Terms of Service
Effective date: April 9, 2026
By using HarborConvert you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written in plain language, not legalese.
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and HarborConvert (“we,” “us,” “our”). By accessing or using harborconvert.com you confirm that you are at least 13 years old, have read these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are using HarborConvert on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of service
HarborConvert is a browser-based file conversion service. All conversion processing occurs locally on your device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files are never uploaded to our servers. We offer this service under several subscription tiers:
- Free— Single-file conversions up to 5 MB. Ad-supported. No account required for basic use.
- Pro— Batch conversions up to 10 files, 50 MB per file. No ads. Conversion history. Monthly or annual billing.
- Business— Batch conversions up to 100 files, 200 MB per file. Team sharing, workflow presets, and API access. Monthly or annual billing.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice to subscribers.
3. Billing and cancellation
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- — Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until then.
- — Refunds: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. After 7 days, subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- — Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increase via email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
- — Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will retry over the next several days before downgrading your account to the free tier.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use HarborConvert to:
- — Violate any applicable law or regulation
- — Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service infrastructure
- — Circumvent rate limits, tier restrictions, or security measures
- — Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written permission
- — Use the API (Business tier) in ways that would place unreasonable load on our systems
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
5. Intellectual property
The HarborConvert name, logo, website design, and underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You retain all rights to the files you convert. We claim no ownership over your content. You grant us only the minimal technical permissions necessary to deliver the service — which, given our client-side architecture, is effectively none.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
HarborConvert is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce conversion results that meet your specific requirements. Complex document layouts (especially PDF-to-Word) may not convert with perfect fidelity.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HarborConvert and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service. Our aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date.
