Cookie Policy

Effective date: April 9, 2026

HarborConvert uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and (for free-tier users) show relevant ads. This page explains exactly what we use and how to control it.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by websites you visit. They allow sites to remember information between page loads and visits. “Similar technologies” include localStorage and sessionStorage — browser storage that works the same way but is not sent with every request.

Cookies we use

EssentialAlways active

These cookies are required for the service to function. You cannot opt out without losing core functionality like staying signed in.

CookieSet byPurpose
sb-access-tokenSupabaseMaintains your authenticated session
sb-refresh-tokenSupabaseRenews your session without requiring re-login
PreferenceslocalStorage — never transmitted

We store lightweight UI settings in your browser's localStorage (e.g., converter output quality settings). This data lives only on your device and is never sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

AnalyticsOptional

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which converters are most popular and how the site is performing. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized — no personally identifiable information is used. You can opt out by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser or using a browser extension like uBlock Origin.

AdvertisingFree tier only · Third-party

Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdSense. Google uses its own cookies to show ads that are relevant to your interests, based on your browsing activity across sites that use Google services. These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

To opt out of personalized ads: visit Google Ads Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out. Upgrading to a Pro or Business plan removes all ads.

How to control cookies

All modern browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying signed in.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted with a revised effective date at the top of this page.
